Maggie is featured artist at Artexpo New York
Maggie has just exhibited at ArtExpo New York ( February
28th-March 3rd ). She was delighted to be selected as one of seven
artists to be featured for the show by Artexpo on their website.
With over 600 artists exhibiting at the show it was a real accolade
and achievement for her work.
This follows on the back of Artexpo using one
of Maggie’s paintings “Liquid Light”, as the
featured painting in Artexpo’s promotional e-mail, which
went out to 1,000's of potential visitors across the US and around
the world. She has already had several inquires about the painting
from galleries in the US.

Maggie exhibits by invitation of the
British Consulate
Emerging British abstract artist and Fellow of the Royal Society
of Arts Maggie C (FRSA) has just been selected by the British
Consulate to be the only artist featured at the U.K./U.S. Excellence
in Creative Industries Reception. The event, hosted by the British
Consulate and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Andrew
and also attended by Digby, Lord Jones of Birmingham, Minster
for Trade and Investment will be held in the Rainbow Room at
Rockefeller Plaza, New York City, on February 15, 2008. The reception
is a celebration of creative talent in both the U.K. and U.S.
with a guest list that reads like a who's who, including celebrities
from the art, film, music, TV, fashion, design, publishing and
business worlds.
"This is such an exciting and unique opportunity
to showcase my work as well as an honor and with the Manhattan
skyline as a back drop to it all" said Maggie.
Maggie's striking
use of color texture and subject matter
will be featured as a modern display of unabashed color,
organic form, and dimension bending uses of dark and light. Her
art, which she describes as “abstract landscapes”,
is inspired by her fascination with volcanic activity and her
deep concern for the environment. ‘Liquid Light’ and
selected others will be displayed on the Rainbow Room’s
walls, enhancing the event and inviting all present to take in
the raw power and energy of her unique art.

Maggie receives grant funding from
the British Government to exhibit at Artexpo Las Vegas
Maggie, who is currently located in New York for 6 months, received funding from
the U.K. government, Trade and Investment to exhibit at the first
Artexpo in Las Vegas. Not surprisingly, Maggie's first exhibit in the U.S.
was recognized as an “emerging artist to note” by the Consulate in
New York and at the Artexpo as her abstract landscapes created visceral tremors
in the art world. Her work was well received on the West Coast, with particular
interest from Sony Pictures Entertainment and several L.A. galleries. Since
the show she has committed to exhibit with WWA gallery in Culver City,
LA where her work will be shown in early summer 2008.
